Our aim
We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That is a target we work at, not a certification we claim.
What is built in
- Semantic HTML headings, landmarks and lists, so screen readers can navigate the page structure
- A “skip to main content” link as the first focusable element on every page
- Visible keyboard focus outlines throughout
- Text alternatives on meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
- Colour combinations checked for contrast — including a lightened accent used specifically where text sits on our dark navy sections
- A navigation menu that works without JavaScript, since this site ships none
- Respect for the operating system’s reduced-motion setting
- Layouts that reflow to narrow screens and tolerate zoom without horizontal scrolling
Known limitations
Blog articles migrated from our previous website may contain images whose alternative text is missing or unhelpful. We are working through these.
